Filming: Running under the hot sun
Today was filming day for my group. We went outside and walked straight to the track to begin filming. We dropped our stuff in a place nearby and started wondering what would be best to film first. Once we chose the part of the track we wanted to film, Alex and I got into positions for the first scene. I am one of the runners for our commercial, by the way.
In the first scene we shot, Alex and I began doing stretches which were a little awkward to do at first, to be honest. Alex and I were unsure what stretches to do and had to converse for a minute or two to decide on them. This scene was shot and took up only a short time of our shooting, at around five minutes.
In the second scene, we shot, Alex and I are lined up symmetrically, get into starting positions, and then look at each other. This scene went well and only took two takes.
In the third scene we shot, Alex and I had to look at each other as we got into starting positions. This also was a simple scene and took only a few takes. However, it was a little funny when Rashawn said, look to the left when I thought he was talking to me. But he was actually talking to Alex causing me to look in the opposite direction of Alex.
In the fourth scene we shot, Alex and I started running with him ahead. This scene took a few attempts because I had to slow my running while looking like I was running as fast as possible. This was my favorite part of the filming because I got to run while in school.
In the fifth scene we shot, I am supposed to speed past him and win the race. This scene was also fun to shoot because I got to run. We had to shoot this multiple times for different shots, some in slow-mo and some regular speed. So I got pretty tired and was pretty exhausted by the end of filming this scene.
For the final scene we shot, I am getting interviewed by Hadar. That was the most challenging part to shoot for me because I had to say some words that felt cringy and weird to say. In the end, the scene came out good, though, so it was worth it in the end.
