CCR

Today I had to answer a Creative Critical Reflection, also known as a CCR. After answering all the questions I realized how much I learned and gained from creating this commercial.

The Final Product

Wow! We are finally done with our commercial. I can not believe that we finished because it felt like I was doing something fun during the entire process. Talking with friends, sharing ideas, making jokes, and getting creative. All these things made the commercial-making experience fun.     I learned from this experience that editing, filming, and creating new ideas can be a fun process and spark creativity. I also learned new things such as a basic knowledge of how to edit, how different filming techniques can be used, and how to communicate and work with a group.     However, if I had to be honest without my group none of this would have been possible. Rashawn helped significantly with editing, Hadar with tips and creative ideas, and Alex with his innovative and smart ideas. These are the people who truly made the commercial-making experience fun.      I hope that in future projects I will be able to work with them. Especially since they are all greatly helpful in their own rega

Editing: Completion!

Today was my team's final day of editing. To start off from my last blog we regained the progress that was lost due to the crashing of our software. Once we got back on track and talked about what needed to get done today we started editing.     When we started editing Rashawn showed us a new software he was using. He talked about how it was more professional than the other program and made it easier to edit. We then started to focus on the interview scene. My group and I then begun looking at our previous edits and went over any suggestions or anything that should be changed. One of the things I suggested was adding more "life" or brightness to some of the scenes. My group as the scene looked dead and had limited color making the background grey.    Rashawn and I then looked over the interview scene and thought it would be a good idea to have some sort of music in the background as I took out my hair from a bun. I made a suggestion on adding a choir kinda music or so

Editing: Learning and plugins

Today my group had to edit all the scenes we completed filming. Rashawn had already gotten started editing and wanted to show the group a draft. It was a nice start on the footage he had edited already. I critiqued a few of the scenes which had some interesting edits.      The brightness on some of the edits was very dark and suggested we make it a little brighter. So we could see the track and background. We went through multiple plays until we got the right brightness. One of our plans for the edit was to have my shoes flaming as I run past Alex. However, the flames ended up being weird and complicated to edit. So I suggested to the group we could try electricity effects of some kind since those also have a connotation of speed. So we decided on that and it looked pretty good once edited on.  After some other suggestions and changes, the software began crashing multiple times. I think it was due to CPU problems from being under stress during rendering the scenes and edits. Once

Filming : The Final Stretch

Today was the second day of filming. My group had most of the shooting done so we could have a slower day where we were not shooting as many scenes. This lets us focus our time on looking over shots and making suggestions to reshoot or change something about the shot. We also had extra time so we got to editing.     We started the day by walking to the field and luckily were the first ones who got there so we took a spot in the shade. The first topic discussed was what needed to be filmed still and how close we were to our final product.     To our group's avail, Rashawn had already started on a draft edit with the footage created from the first day. We all looked at his current edit and critiqued it so we could have a better-finished product. Once we were done looking it over. We got started on filming the scenes that we needed to reshoot and change slightly.     We needed a scene of Alex running in front of me so we filmed that first. Hadar and Rashawn filmed as usual.
