Production: Getting Ready to Film Again

Image
Today we did not get to start filming again. However, we chose our next filming date. We also began preparing to get ready to film. We are going to shoot at a different park this time by Alex's grandparents house.     The park by Alex's house has one specific area which we need to film. However, it will not look weird if we were to change locations. We are going to make sure of this by filming the shot from an angle where you cannot see the rest of the park. Which will hopefully seclude the shot and make it looks like the same location. Since we are not going to be able to film today. I decided to research some editing. For my job I need to find out how to fix the title on to the screen so that they blend in the way we want. I started out researching the Divinchi Resolve software that I decided to use. I first grabbed a sample text that I could imagine was my one of my titles. Then I used some footage from our earlier filming and implanted the text on top of the scenes. I foun

Production: Did Some Editing Work and Found Our Editing Software!

Today, I decided to research some potential editing software that my team and I could use to edit. I thought that getting familiar with the editing software would benefit us greatly when I actually had to edit.     I started by looking around and asking some friends about their suggested software. The first suggestion I got from my friend who often edits was DaVinci Resolve 17. He told me the program was user-friendly for people at the beginner to intermediate level. He also told me that he has used the software and rates it highly. I found it online and downloaded it, which took me a while. Once I had the software downloaded, I messed around with it. I fiddled with the timeline, cutting, sounds, and visual effects. After using it, I have to say it is an excellent program that was easier to understand than expected.     The following program I wanted to research was iMovie. I chose this next because I have worked with it prior. It is easy to use and way more straightforward than

Production: Time to Start Filming!

Today we started filming our Final Task Intro. My partners and I met up at TY Park early in the morning. We chose to go early in the morning in case the filming took longer than we expected and we also needed to figure out where we were gonna shoot the scenes.     Once we got to the park we began setting up everything and getting ready to film. We started by getting into the uniforms which we bought. I got my army uniform on and began looking for some places to film. I was mostly looking for any hilltops and other areas which could be useful to our filming process.  I found a few hills and some nice areas which I thought would be good for filming. After, my group and I regrouped we started looking at each of the areas we found.     We began shooting our first, scene where the two soldiers attack each other. I thought this scene would be fun to shoot so I said we should do it first. This scene was so much fun to shoot because I had to act like I was being tackled by my friend which

Production: Change of Plans! We gotta go back!

Today my partners and I decided we should change our location. We were gonna use the park near Alex's house. However, after consideration, we realized that we did not have everything we need to film an action-type theme in that small park. So we got to brainstorming on new locations.     I started looking for some locations near all three of us. One place I found called TY park which I am a little familiar with. This park is popular but not overflowing with people to the point that we can not film. The park also has multiple different types of structures that could be used for our filming like big stone walls. The park also has hills and general terrain which will help with any scenes that our soldiers need cover in or are underway in some battle. This park is also relatively close to all of us so we will not have too much trouble meeting there on time. Another thing better about this park is the vast amount of space we have to film. This park is almost four times as big as the

Production: Shopping for some uniforms!

Today my partners and I decided we required costumes for our film. I thought it would be better to get the costumes earlier just in case they were hard to find or limited stock. So I went off on my own to do some early scowering on some potential stores which might have had the military uniforms. I also think it might be hard to find good military uniforms that look like the ones I am hoping to get.     I hopped in my car straight after school to go find some stores. Me and my mom started off with one of the most well known costume shops in Florida. The store is named Party City. While searching the I saw they had many accessories available that could be used in our opening sequence. Such as blood and war paint to add some small accurate details. I then visited the costume section where I found about three different soldier costumes. However, none of them were to my liking really, but I kept them in mind and took some pictures. Then went back to the car.     The next stop was a t

Production: On the hunt for music!

Image
Today my partners and I began working on looking for some music for our final task opening video sequence. We started out by brainstorming ideas. We started by using what we have seen from other movies that we can apply to our opening sequence.     The first thought I had was this one song I heard that was like opera. I have seen this during some war movies and thought it could be applied to our opening sequence. The idea I was going for is an entrance scene with either bombs exploding or soldiers running in slow motion as the music is playing. The sounds of the soldier's march and shouts would be muffled while the music played. We did not yet decide if we are going to use this idea but we are keeping it in mind.     Christian then thought of looking for royalty-free music on youtube. We were going for something inspiring which sounded like action was happening. Most of the music I found did not really fit what we were looking for. However, Christian found a music video that

Page 1: The movie opens with a screen showing the name of the production company. The first scene shows Admiral Murphy at a war table. He picks up a communication device and calls our main character Stephan. Stephan answers while hiding in a bush with his friend Charles. Page 2: Stephan and Charles look ahead at enemy army forces assembling. They contact the admiral back. He is surprised and automatically calls the commander of the nearby platoon. They then inform him that it is clear in their area and no chance of anything going wrong. Page 3: Cuts to the war room and the admiral hears screaming and loud sounds on the other side coming from the platoon. Stephan and Charles run back and they see the destruction of their entire platoon. They then call back the admiral and report:” Code Black”. Fades out and shows the director.
