Scene 1: Two people riding their bikes down a neighborhood street during the day. This will be filmed on one of the main streets in the neighborhood. Its main purpose is to establish the setting and feel of the video, this will be done with a wide-angle shot. The beginning instrumental section of the song will play during this section. Scene 2: A point of view shot is given from one of the riders as they approach their location, that being the park we intend to film at. This shot exists mainly to help the audience feel more immersed within the video. Scene 3: The third scene will show an over-the-shoulder shot from the two people that were on the bikes looking towards a small hill. On the hill, there will be multiple people smiling and waving to them. Scene 4. Another wide-angle shot is used here to show an open field. The actors will run across the field as if playing together with a ball. Scene 5: This scene is an establishing shot of the field they were just running around on to onc

Planning for my Music Video

Song: “Africa” By: Toto Props: For our video, we plan to showcase people hanging out at a park. To do this we will bring bicycles, sports balls, and other possible props that one would use to have fun with at a park. Costumes: We have decided to wear casual clothes but specifically something with long sleeves as we feel it will better suit the song. One thing we did specifically decide upon though was wearing tennis shoes as they would still be comfortable to wear at a park but also will fit the mood of the song and the video. Schedule: The week of 11/15 we were planning out our project and still making the major decision, as well as conducting research about the rock industry in general. The week of 11/22 will be thanksgiving break and we intend to begin filming and editing throughout that week as we will have little other work for other classes. The week of 11/29 will be the final editing period and getting ready to submit our project. Location: Our main choice of locatio

Research blog: Music Video Conventions

The song we decided on for our video was “Africa” by the band Toto. The song has been a favorite of mine for many years, so this excited me quite a bit.      The band Toto is categorized as a rock band, therefore we need to look at typical rock band music videos to observe conventions.      Right off the bat one of the most common traits with all these rock and roll music videos is that the band members are in it for one reason or another. Sometimes they are acting a roll in the video, other times they are just playing in the background. We are obviously not Toto so that aspect might be different.      Another trope in many rock music videos is to bass the different parts of the video around the sound of the song. Many songs have faster, slower, and higher, lower tempo portions. These changes impact the way the video flows through the different scenes and actions taking place. Most of the time the video is made to match the song. Occasionally it is the other way, especially with a

My Group: My Close friends

Image
This is my first group project of the year, and I am excited about the future of this group. My group is comprised of Alex Rapanos and Chris tian  Bundalevski.     Usually, I work in an individual setting. However, I am happy to be working in a group because groups can create a setting where creativity will thrive and ideas will bounce off each groupmate. This type of work environment can lead to a better result with the help of my partners.       From my experience in the past of working with groups, there are often many conflicting problems. Which led to decreased performance. However, this group is made up of hard-working students. I know this because I am familiar with their working habits and have seen what drives them to be productive. These are only just a few of the reasons I chose these partners for this project.     The partner in the group I am the most familiar with is Alex Rapanos. We have known each other for a long time. We first met through a friend in the fifth grad

Introduction Fully Prepared!

Hello blog readers, my name is Jorge Lopez, and I am in 10th grade at Fort Lauderdale High School. I was transferred into this class after being in TV production and I am pleased with this choice. The reason I chose to move to this class was I heard it was interesting. Another reason I chose this class is because I would love to know what is happening behind the camera of my favorite movies, shows, and influencers that I watch.  I find media to be a commentary on modern-day life and societal movements and norms.      The thing I do the most when I need to cool down plays  video games. Video games help me deal with stress and blow off steam after working on some assignments. I also use them to connect with friends I might not often see due to our differences in classes and limited contact because of Covid-19. Some of my personal favorite games are Valorant, Call of Duty Warzone, Overwatch, and Apex Legends. These games are all competitive and test my abilities against others which
