Editing: A Confusing Day
Today my partners and I decided to start editing our video. We decided the best place to talk was on Discord because of its camera and screen-sharing features. Which allowed Christian and me to see Alex's computer screen. We are also quite familiar with Discord as we often talk to each other on here to do other assignments and study.
Once Alex contacted Christian and me that the download of the video software was done. We all joined a voice call. Alex gave a run down about what had happened the first time he tried installing the editing software it crashed and how uploading the different scenes to the software took an annoying amount of time.
We were very unfamiliar with the whole editing process. So we started to fiddle with the many options the editing software came with. The whole process was very confusing and took a while.
We then started to talk about editing the actual video. We thought the best action to take first was to organize all the scenes by name so we could easily identify each one. After doing that we categorized all the footage in chronological order. Next, we cut out any small clips of silence where nothing important to the music video was occurring.
After doing that we started reviewing the footage meticulously. While reviewing the footage we all gave ideas on lighting changes and thought about possible reshooting for some scenes. After a full review, we saw that the current footage was good as is and did not need much editing to be done.
After finishing reviewing the footage we ended our call. I decided to look into some editing videos. I watched some youtube tutorials on editing. Hoping I would understand better next time we edited together.
