Production: On the hunt for music!
Today my partners and I began working on looking for some music for our final task opening video sequence. We started out by brainstorming ideas. We started by using what we have seen from other movies that we can apply to our opening sequence.
The first thought I had was this one song I heard that was like opera. I have seen this during some war movies and thought it could be applied to our opening sequence. The idea I was going for is an entrance scene with either bombs exploding or soldiers running in slow motion as the music is playing. The sounds of the soldier's march and shouts would be muffled while the music played. We did not yet decide if we are going to use this idea but we are keeping it in mind.
Christian then thought of looking for royalty-free music on youtube. We were going for something inspiring which sounded like action was happening. Most of the music I found did not really fit what we were looking for. However, Christian found a music video that sort of fit our theme. We copied the URL down and decided to look for other options.
Alex focused his efforts on looking through open source music. He copied down a few music videos that piqued our interest. Then we came back together. So we could discuss our draft music choice for the opening sequence.
We are not 100 percent sure what music will be used on the final draft. However, we decided on using some open-source music Alex found as our draft idea. The music chosen gave the inspiring and heroic feel we were looking for in our music.
