Re-Planning Blog: Fixing the Schedule
Today, my groupmates and I have a scheduled meeting to discuss re-planning our schedule for our film project. We realized that one of our filming dates clashed with Katie's family trip. Hence, we need to discuss and find a new suitable date for everyone to shoot.
To begin with, we decided to inquire from each group member about their availability to shoot. After a discussion, we agreed that March 3rd would be the best day to shoot, as we have no school the next day, and we could shoot till late if required for night scenes.
The ideal time to arrive would be early in the morning at Katie's house. We decided on a specific time of 8:30 am, keeping in mind that anyone who might run late could still join us before filming.
Next, I reached out to the other actors who were supposed to be a part of the shoot and ensured their availability. I also contacted my friend, Logan, asking him to lend us his drone camera to film a scene within our short film. Although he was uncertain about it, he promised to get back to me.
As the scene with the drone camera was one of the last scenes, we knew we could reschedule the filming if needed. I later checked the weather forecast for the day and found out that it would be clear skies on the day of the shoot.
With some extra time in hand, I took up the task of creating a shot list and schedule. The shot list consisted of details like the costumes and props needed for each shot and the estimated time required to shoot each scene.
We also discussed the possibility of having a backup plan if something goes wrong or if any unforeseen event occurs during the shoot. In case of such a scenario, we agreed to keep a backup location in mind to avoid any delay or cancellation.
Before wrapping up the discussion, we made sure that everyone was on the same page regarding the schedule, plan, and backup plan. We discussed and resolved any queries that anyone had and clarified any confusion.
We decided to meet up a day before the shoot to finalize everything, such as the costumes, props, and equipment required for the shoot. We also discussed the roles and responsibilities of each member during the shoot.
Once the discussion concluded, I sent a group message summarizing everything we discussed during the meeting, including the shoot's schedule, location, and the equipment required.
I also reminded everyone to keep their phones handy and charged to stay in touch during the shoot.
We concluded the discussion feeling positive and prepared, with a clear plan of action and contingency plans ready to make our film a success.
