Production: Time to Start Filming!

    Today we started filming our Final Task Intro. My partners and I met up at TY Park early in the morning. We chose to go early in the morning in case the filming took longer than we expected and we also needed to figure out where we were gonna shoot the scenes.

    Once we got to the park we began setting up everything and getting ready to film. We started by getting into the uniforms which we bought. I got my army uniform on and began looking for some places to film. I was mostly looking for any hilltops and other areas which could be useful to our filming process.  I found a few hills and some nice areas which I thought would be good for filming. After, my group and I regrouped we started looking at each of the areas we found.

    We began shooting our first, scene where the two soldiers attack each other. I thought this scene would be fun to shoot so I said we should do it first. This scene was so much fun to shoot because I had to act like I was being tackled by my friend which is hard but I liked the challenge.

    Next, we shot the scene where I have to pretend to shoot the sniper at Christian. I loved shooting this scene because the gear I was wearing made it feel real.

Then there was a scene where Christian is shot. I had to act like I was hiding from the sniper while trying to save him. Although I am the sniper and the friend I wear a hat and change clothes with the leader Griffin to make it seem like he was the one who dragged him to safety. We had to do this because Griffin was not strong enough to drag Christian. I have never had to act like my friend died and drag him across the dirt so there were a lot of bloopers in this scene.

    Finally, we began shooting any filler scenes where I was just running or walking somewhere. As well as any scenes which were really short and cut to another scene instantly. After we finished, I said it would be a good idea to just look over some of the footage and see if we might change something. We started looking over our footage and were laughing a bunch at ourselves. Once we were done we thought the footage was great so far. So we parted ways and went home.

Pitch #1: “A film about two ordinary high school girls that live a secret double life as agent spies for the United States of America.”      We plan to show two girls first getting ready for high school. We would film these scenes in a group member’s house. We would also have to film scenes of the girls in their spy outfits and performing stunts. This would be hard to do as we would have to use actors who can do stunts. Production: Fixing it up!

    Today my partners and I wanted to make changes to the editing based off of our film review. So we joined a discord call right after school and started saying what each of the people we reviewed said.     Christians' parents said that the scenes could have looked more professional and less like we were messing around filming. Since we are only editing today I can't fix that so I left it till later. His parents also said that we should make the film brighter as details like the costume and landscape were hard to see. So I quickly fixed it by making it brighter so everything could be seen well.     Alexs' sister told him that the camera work could have looked smoother and that there was some shakiness seen when she watched it. Editing Blog: Continuing the pro

     As I opened up Davinci Resolve, I felt a mixture of excitement and apprehension wash over me. I knew that we had a lot of work to do on our short film and that the editing process could be a challenging and time-consuming one. But as I located our project file and began sorting through the footage, I became increasingly immersed in the story we were trying to tell.      However, as I worked my way through the different shots and scenes, I quickly realized that some of them needed to be stronger. In particular, I noticed that some of the shots needed proper lighting, which made it challenging to capture the intended mood and atmosphere. This realization made me appreciate the importance of lighting in filmmaking, as it can truly make or break a scene.      Because of this, I had to spend a lot of extra time editing those particular shots to try and enhance the lighting and create a more compelling visual experience for the audience.
