Production: Finishing Up Editing

    My groupmates and I were editing our movie today. We completed our final film editing. I was the primary editor who also contributed all of the sound effects to the film. I was telling Christian how I was doing all the editing and talking to him about what we should do for ideas.
    
    We began the editing process by downloading all of the scenes and placing them in the editor. This was primarily Alex's responsibility. We have to start by placing the scenes in order after downloading them. Then, in other instances, we had to cut out unneeded bits and add sound effects. We started with the music effects for the battle scene because we thought it would be the most straightforward. Because our battle sequence was action-packed, I added a song that we thought would work well in an action film. I showed the footage after the edits so my groupmates could evaluate the edits, and they thought the scene turned out extremely nicely.

    Following that, I went on to add sound effects to the rest of the movie. I added sound effects to the scenario where the planes passed through the sky, for example, to make it more realistic. I was asked to provide my opinion on this, and I think the scene turned out well. I also added a sound effect of someone speaking to a scenario when we were conversing to make it feel more natural. Another scenario where sound effects were introduced was when a phone was utilized as a walkie talkie and a sound effect was played when it was picked up. Music was also playing over the scene of me lying against the tree pretending to be dead. Sad music was played over it, which fit the picture perfectly because the chief soldier was grieving my demise.

    This completes the editing for our final job film; today went well because we finished our editing and ensured that we stayed inside the film's time frame. The title design is the last item we need to finish for our film, which we will do by Friday.

Production: Fixing it up!

    Today my partners and I wanted to make changes to the editing based off of our film review. So we joined a discord call right after school and started saying what each of the people we reviewed said.     Christians' parents said that the scenes could have looked more professional and less like we were messing around filming. Since we are only editing today I can't fix that so I left it till later. His parents also said that we should make the film brighter as details like the costume and landscape were hard to see. So I quickly fixed it by making it brighter so everything could be seen well.     Alexs' sister told him that the camera work could have looked smoother and that there was some shakiness seen when she watched it. Editing Blog: Continuing the pro

     As I opened up Davinci Resolve, I felt a mixture of excitement and apprehension wash over me. I knew that we had a lot of work to do on our short film and that the editing process could be a challenging and time-consuming one. But as I located our project file and began sorting through the footage, I became increasingly immersed in the story we were trying to tell.      However, as I worked my way through the different shots and scenes, I quickly realized that some of them needed to be stronger. In particular, I noticed that some of the shots needed proper lighting, which made it challenging to capture the intended mood and atmosphere. This realization made me appreciate the importance of lighting in filmmaking, as it can truly make or break a scene.      Because of this, I had to spend a lot of extra time editing those particular shots to try and enhance the lighting and create a more compelling visual experience for the audience.
